Instruction Challenged
- J put glue on the wrong side of her "J" monogram; Izzy said it looked fine backwards.
- I put the glue on the wrong side of her butterfly; Gramma said it looked fine backwards.
- Gramma needed spell check when she made camp t-shirts. Oh, well, we will make it our brand.
What we Forgot/Couldn't Find/Couldn't Remember
- "Gramma, I forgot my . . . rec specks, socks, soccer cleats, shoes, glasses . . . "
- "Gramma, I left my glasses at home when I picked up my rec specks."
- "Gramma, I can't find the book I was just reading . . . glasses . . . rec specks (see above).
- Holding Surf's Up move in hand,
- I: "What's this movie about?"
- Gramma: "It's a sequel to Happy Face."
- I & J (laughing): "You mean Happy Feet?"
That Time When We Forgot Our Manners
- Sitting at table in dinner/theatre restaurant,
- Gramma: "Girls, put your napkins on your lap."
- J: "Why on our lap?"
- Gramma: "So, while you're eating you can wipe your hands on your lap like this (demonstrating).
- J: "Oh, I do that all the time, but on my jeans. That's why I always have Cheetos on my jeans.
Those Times When Gramma is Really Confused
I: "Gramma, I think you forgot to comb the back of your hair."
J: "Gramma, I think we were supposed to turn back there."
I: "Gramma, where are you going, our car is over here."
Those Times When Gramma wonders
- Running in from outside:
- I: "Gramma, these two boys keep walking by and watching us. Should we invite them to play?"
- Gramma: "That's very nice, Izzy. But, um, no.
WHEN YOUR WORLD IS DIFFERENT WITH GRAND KIDS IN THE HOUSE
- Walking in from garage . . .
- Gramma: "Does anyone know why my hairbrush was in the garage?"
- Girls: "No, I didn't use it."
- Gramma: "Was it used for anything but hair?
- I: "Oh, J used it for her hair."
- J: "Oh, that's right I did. I used it to get the silly string out of our hair yesterday."
- Gramma: "Maybe this isn't my hairbrush afterall."
