Cammp© Life is better with THEMES & COLORS

Your activities are organized. It's time to schedule them with THEMES & COLORS.

I know, I know.  You're thinking you don't need themes and colors. But read this first before you decide.

you belong together, it's clear

It's something to rally around. You know what I mean – you see kids at one camp or another wearing the same t-shirt, for example, and you know they belong together. I wanted everyone to know on sight that we belonged together. The idea of a camp T-shirt was one I found on a favorite web site. Our tradition now is to make the t-shirts as a craft activity during camp, then wear them on our last day together. Last year’s t-shirt resulted in a“typo” that became our brand. When the word “Camp” came out in ironed-on crayon as “Cammp” I decided to just go with it.

Our t-shirts were truly unique to us!

then, what?

Our Cammp© t-shirt was for the last day of Cammp©, but what would we do for the other days? I looked back at my spreadsheet, found answers to the question about favorite colors and assigned a color to each day we were together. On that day, we each wear something of the same color and we visually belong together. It also occurred to me that a theme for the day might make it easier to stay focused on planned activities.

There’s Gramma Cammp© power in both!

kids love themes & colors -- so do grammas

Themes and colors appeal to most kids and their need to rally around something. I keep our themes a surprise as a daily "reveal" each Cammp© morning. But, when I send out the packing list just before Cammp© begins, I include our colors for the week.

This year, I will ask my grand girls to choose our colors.

And, get this . . .

My grand girls began suggesting themes for the coming year’s Gramma Cammp© at Christmas!!!!!!!

You know what that means?

That means they were already thinking about Gramma Cammp©!

Isn’t that the best?

You should do this, Gramma.
